Rev. and Mrs. William Johnson. This is my current Pastor and his wife, Karen.
Pastor and Karen Johnson were both born into Pastor's home and were already
acclimated to the "ministry" when they came of age. However, being "born" into the
family of Christians doesn't make you one and they both accepted Jesus as their Savior
later in their teen's and twenties. Karen had a love for instruments when she was 12 but
didn't start "learning" the piano until she was 15. By the time she was 16, her father,
Pastor Earl Baker, had asked her to become the church pianist. Karen has been playing
the piano and singing with her husband since 1987.
Pastor Johnson had been singing for the Lord since he was 8 and when his father
surrendered into Evangelism, William began singing and preaching wherever his father
went. Before becoming a pastor, William was a Youth Pastor, Song Leader, Choir
Director and Associate Pastor for 11 years. He was ordained in 1998 and went into
Evangelism with his wife Karen and daughter Sarah the same year.
In 2003 God touched Pastor Johnson's heart to start a church in Chillicothe, Missouri.
As a result, Grace Baptist Church was founded upon the principles of the Bible and has
been in existence for 4 years. Today, Pastor Johnson and Karen serve the Lord in song
and service.
Mrs. Connie Northam.Connie Northam grew up singing in churches and concerts
throughout the Southwest with her sisters in the WATTS SISTERS TRIO. While still in
her teens she recorded her first album and appeared regularly on WALLY FOWLER
Gospel promotions. After marrying Bruce Northam, The Northams was formed as a
mixed group, merging two well-known groups, the Northam Brothers and the Watts
Sisters Trio. From 1981 - 2005 the Northams were one of the most popular Gospel
groups in Gospel music. From Seattle to Pittsburgh, Canada to Miami; they traveled 80 -
100 thousand miles each year singing in churches, concert halls, high schools,
universities, barns and open air meetings almost every night. They have appeared at
Watermelon Park, the Blackwood Homecoming, the legendary, Ryman Auditorium, The
Peoples' Choice Awards program, and for 7 consecutive years at the National Quartet
Convention. They have recorded over 26 albums and 4 videos, including five for
national labels with national distribution. The Northams have won many awards,
including top vocalist and favorite group awards. They have appeared on television and
radio all across the nation and Canada, have had top twenty songs twice, and are
currently heard on Christian radio nationwide. Connie has taught voice for The Stamps
School of Music, The Blackwood School of Music, The National School of Gospel
Music, Christian Music Conference and currently teaches for Ben Speer's Stamps
Baxter school held at Trevecca Nazarene University. In January of 2006, Bruce and
Connie answered the call of Executive Pastor of Clay Road Baptist Church in Houston
Texas where they minister currently. In addition, Connie and Bruce make two trips each
year overseas with the International Mission Board where they serve as the pastor to
Eastern and Western Europe’s missionary kids. Connie speaks at many ladies’ retreats.
She was the keynote speaker for the National First Place conference in 1996. Her insight
on Christian living, parenting, home schooling, and juggling the constant demands of
home, career, and ministry are sure to bless any group of listeners. You will laugh, cry
and gain a new perspective on life in the fast lane.
Miss Angel Parrish. This sweet lady is currently working with "The Rock of Ages
Prison Ministry". She has been with them for about 5 years now. She travels across the
country ministering to the needs of women while they are imprisoned. The Lord has
used her to reach many souls for Him and to encourage and teach those believers that
are there as well. She teaches in Discipleship Classes in the prisons and is the Revival
Team Cooridinator in some areas. Miss Angel also speaks for Ladies Groups and
presents her work to Teens, as well as to Christian Schools and colleges. She loves to
sing for the Lord whenever and wherever the Lord gives her the opportunity to do so.
She began singing at about twelve years of age and began playing the piano when she
was fourteen. She and her siblings would sing together at church and at concerts. She
also would compete in vocal and piano contests. She majored in Communications and
Bible in college and minored in Music. From this beginning, the Lord kept building her
talent in the music field. When she moved to Georgia, the Lord allowed her to serve Him
through being in charge of the Adult and Children's choir at church and over the music
in their Christian School. In 1998 she and her siblings attended the Stamps Baxter
School of Music for the first time. She learned a great deal during those two weeks
and enjoyed it very much. She was even the "runner-up" to be able to sing for the
closing program that year! She also competed at the "Waycross All Night Sing". She
has been offered two recording contracts during this time, but the Lord had other plans
for her life's main ministry.
Rev. Randy Johnson. Bro. Randy is a former Pastor of mine, when we lived in
Athens, Alabama for a short time. He grew up in a Baptist preacher's home. He
accepted God's call in his life to preach when he was 38 years old. In 1990 he became
the Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in his hometown of Athens, Alabama. God has
blessed him and his wife, Iris, with a great congregation of good, solid Christian people.
